Our President/CEO and Sole owner, Neal W. Krantz has dedicated his career to the protection of lives and property on a National basis over the past 36 years through quality General and Electrical Construction and performance and industry affairs activities with the organizations outlined elsewhere on this website.
Neal is a Professional Member Grade of the National Society of Fire Protection Engineers. He attended the University of Southern California, Cleveland Institute of Technology, and is NICET Certified Level IV (SET) in Fire Alarm Technology as well as Special Hazards Technology.
He is a nationally recognized Consultant in the Fire Alarm/Special Hazards Industrial, Automotive, Utility & Commercial Buildings Industries and represents them through Membership on the NFPA Industrial and Building Systems Section Board of Directors as well as his other appointments and achievements.

Neal is a Certified Service Disabled Veteran, in 2004 he asked his son (Neal Jr.) to join him in an SBA Certified SDVOSB company in the Electrical and General Contracting fields. Having spent the majority of his senior management years learning both business’s from a management perspective as Industrial Manager for Siemens (BAS Division ) and Tyco (Simplex/Grinnell Division), Niel and his son Niel Jr. have catapulted VCS Construction to the very successful company it is today. Neal attended Hall Engineering apprenticeship program in Novi, MI where he was awarded technical apprentice. After completing NJATC Apprenticeship School in 2001, which included fiber optic training, and simultaneously attending an installer technician training program at Baycom Technology in Redford, MI, Neal continued to work for Baycom where he was given the responsibility to wire the Detroit Tigers Comerica Fiber Optics Scoreboard.
When Neal began working for KSA (a sister company of VCS), he was responsible for overseeing all fire alarm and security installations for over 55 DoD Child Development Centers throughout the United States military bases. During this period, he also managed field operations for VCS and helped grow the new general constructions company to what it is today.
A few of the projects that Neal has been involved with in his career: Oakland County Jail, Comerica Park, Renaissance Center, Replace Air Handlers, Replace Fire Alarm Systems at the Chillicothe VA, Build Hand Grenade Range, Camp Revenna, OH. Neal Jr. has a wealth of knowledge in electrical contracting and his licenses and certifications include: NICET Level 1 certified, Honeywell FCI/ Gamewell Manufacturer’s Training Program, Gamewell FCI E3 Broadband Manufacturer’s Program.
Neal is the Safety Manager and Project manager for Veterans Construction Service, Inc. and reports directly to the president. Throughout projects, Neal Jr is responsible for the overall safety of those involved with the project. He ensures the Quality Control Manager provides regular reports and executes the Quality Control plan effectively. Neal is responsible for oversight of all aspects of project execution, including ensuring that top scheduling and validating resources are in place which ensures that best value practices are met. As Project Manager and Safety Manager, Neal coordinates safety and quality control processes by meeting with the customers Quality Control Manager regularly, as well as implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures. Alongside the CEO, Neal Jr leads estimating, selection of subcontractors and overall proposal of project bids. Neal Jr also acts as Lead Estimator on any electrical portions of a project.
